Lying back against the headboard of her queen size bed with her hands behind her head, she closed her eyes and tries to remember.
The low timber of his hellos, his quiet chuckle, and later his ringing laughter. Butterflies were threatening to tear a hole through her stomach. She placed her arms over her heart.
“It hurts” she whimpered “Don’t you see me at all?”
Tears started dripping down her cheeks, her shoulders shook.
Looking into the window from afar, he saw her huddled in a ball
“I do see you” he whispered “I do.”
With downcast eyes, he turned away.
